Field made an immediate impact at the Knights when arriving from Leeds Rhinos midway through the 2023 season, quickly establishing himself as a regular in the back-row in his first season as an out-and-out starter.

The Leeds product had enjoyed short loan spells at Batley Bulldogs, Oldham and Cornwall earlier in his career but was making his first genuine step into a first-team environment when he joined from the Rhinos.

Initially arriving on a one-month loan spell, Field was then signed to a permanent three-year contract and ended his first season at the Knights with seven tries in 26 appearances, more than any other York forward last season.

The former Leeds Under-19s Captain was promoted to the number 11 shirt during the off-season by Head Coach Andrew Henderson.
