A true leader among the York Knights forwards, Ta’ai has become a valued member of the Knights squad in his two seasons at the LNER Community Stadium.

After moving to York from Newcastle Thunder for 2024, Ta’ai brought a wealth of experience, having won 10 caps for Tonga, appearing more than 50 times in the NRL for New Zealand Warriors and playing almost 200 times for Huddersfield Giants.

In his first two years at the LNER Community Stadium, Ta’ai made 47 appearances and scored six tries, including one in the memorable win over Featherstone Rovers at the Millennium Stadium.

The veteran forward agreed an extension to his contract in the close season to keep him in a Knights’ shirt for 2025.
