York Valkyrie celebrated their incredible achievement of becoming the first team to win back to back Betfred Women's Super League titles, with an open top bus parade around York!
The tour started at Union Terrace where the open top bus, kindly supplied to us by York Pullman, was filled with York Valkyrie players, staff and sponsors, all of which were in great voice as the night's celebrations began.
The bus headed down Gillygate and in to Duncombe Place, where the squad was greeted by the loud support of the Valkyrie fans, who sung their hearts out as the players arrived with the Betfred Women's Super League trophy.
The Valkyrie party continued as the squad paraded through the streets of York to the Mansion House in St Helens Square, where they were greeted by even more passionate Valkyrie supporters.
Outside the Mansion House, the town crier proclaimed the York Valkyrie as the two time Women's Super League Grand Final Winners.
The Valkyrie players and staff then headed up into the Mansion House, where they met the Lord Mayor of York, Councillor Margaret Wells, and the civic party.
Finally, the Valkyrie players and staff went on to Hooting Owl Distillery to celebrate another victorious season with fans and sponsorts, topping off a great night for the club and city.
🤝 Many thanks to York Pullman for their support of the Trophy Parade, to City of York Council for helping make this event possible, and to Hooting Owl for hosting us for the after party!
