York RLFC have crowned Ata Hingano as the Graham Steadman Player of the Year, sponsored by GEM and Savannah Andrade as the Julie Cronin Player of the Year, sponsored by Nutrein!
They received their trophies at our glittering End of Season Awards ceremony held at Hazelwood Castle, and kindly sponsored by our friends at York Emporium.
Hingano, sponsored by Fox Red Wealth Management, has had an incredible year for the Knights, being instrumental in a season which has taken them to the semi-finals of the Betfred Championship play-offs.
He’s scored five tries in 27 appearances and had a hand in many more as York finished fourth in the table.
He also won the Knights’ Players’ Player of the Year award, sponsored by Copycars and the Knights Back of the Year, sponsored by Business Waste.
Andrade, sponsored by Yorkshire Profiles, has had a huge impact on the Valkyrie this year with some big defensive efforts and running in 11 tries in 20 appearances, including in the play-off semi-final against Leeds Rhinos.
She also picked up the Valkyrie Players’ Player of the Year award, sponsored by Visiting North Yorkshire and the Valkyrie Forward of the Year accolade, sponsored by Thors.
Other winners on the night included Kay Rollinson and Carly Hilton, who shared the Jim Bone Award for work done by a club person, in recognition of their tireless work off field with York Valkyrie.
Woman of Steel winner, Georgie Hetherington won the Phil Johnson Award for contributions on and off the field with York Valkyrie.
