York RLFC are delighted to announce the return of Fish and Chip Friday!
In partnership with Tanglewood Care Homes, Millers Fish & Chips and York St.John University, Fish and Chip Friday will take place every month at either York Manor Care Home, owned by Tanglewood, or York St.John University Sports Park, Haxby Road.
We’re inviting you to join us for the first of the social gatherings at York Manor Care Home, Blue Beck Drive, Shipton Road, YO30 5RA York on Friday 28th February from 12.30pm!
It costs £6 for fish & chips and a drink, plus £1.50 for any sides (sides payable on the day)
It’s a chance for everyone to come together, whether a rugby league fan or not, in a friendly atmosphere for food, a cuppa and a chat!
Rachel French, Home Manager at York Manor Care Home, owned by Tanglewood, said:

“This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to encouraging a strong sense of belonging and providing opportunities for people of all ages to come together and build meaningful relationships.
“Together, we aim to make a positive and lasting impact on the well-being of our community. We are proud to offer a safe and inclusive hub where anyone who needs support or simply wishes to join us in bringing people closer together, can feel welcome.
“We look forward to working with our partners and the wider community to make this vision a reality."
York RLFC Foundation Inclusion Officer, Dawn Shore added:
‘We are delighted that Tanglewood York Care Home is supporting the return of our popular Fish & Chip Friday events. Without their support these events could not happen.
“These are a great way for people who may feel lonely or isolated to come together with other York fans to share a chat, reminisce over past games, meet new people all while enjoying the excellent food provided by Millers Fish & Chips.’
“We would also like to thank the ongoing support of York St John University and Millers Fish & Chip shop who have supported these events over a number of years.”
