York Valkyrie can confirm a number of last year’s squad have left the club and won’t feature in 2025.
Lacey Owen, Daisy Sanderson and Ellie Hendry have decided not to play this year.
Lucy Eastwood, Remi Wilton, Kira Fitzpatrick and Eva Izumi, and Bettie Lambert have all moved on.
Georgia Taylor has joined the York Valkyrie staff.
Daisy Sanderson - #21
Sanderson made her debut back in 2017, and was part of the 2023 Grand Final winning side, and was a League Leaders Shield winner in 2022 and 2023.
Bettie Lambert - #45
Ireland international, Lambert made her debut for York in 2018. Last year, she made four appearances.
Georgia Taylor - #69
Taylor made her debut in 2019, and went on to become a Welsh international. She’ll stay at the club as part of the off field team.
Lacey Owen - #109
Owen joined York midway through 2022, and went on to make 28 appearances. She was also part of the England squad.
Carrie Roberts - #119
The former England international moved to York from St.Helens in 2023, and won the Grand Final with the Valkyrie in 2023 and 2024. She retires having made 17 appearances for York and scoring 14 tries.
Lucy Eastwood - #120
Eastwood joined York at the start of 2024, and went on to play 16 times, both in the halves and as hooker.
Iva Izumi - #121
Izumi signed from Oulton Raiders in 2023, and featured nine times.
Kira Fitzpatrick - #123
Fitzpatrick made one appearance for the Valkyrie in 2024, in the Challenge Cup win over Featherstone Rovers. She’s returning to Army Rugby League.
Remi Wilton - #124
Australian hooker, Wilton, moved to York mid way through 2024, and made ten appearances last year. She was named on the bench for the 2024 Grand Final win over St.Helens.
