York Valkyrie trio Georgie Hetherington, Eboni Partington and Liv Wood have been named in the England starting line-up to face France at the Stade Ernest-Wallon this afternoon (3.30pm local time).
Hetherington, who is proudly sponsored by Crusading For Veterans, makes her senior England debut at full-back after a tremendous 2023 season and a strong start to the 2024 campaign.
The former Castleford Tigers star scored nine tries in 11 appearances last year for the Valkyrie, winning the League Leaders' Shield and Betfred Women's Super League Grand Final, picking up the Player of the Match award in the latter.
Hetherington has crossed for two tries in five matches to date for York this year.
Partington, who is proudly sponsored by Kings Carpets and Flooring, is named on the wing following a dream start to life as a Valkyrie player since her off-season move from St Helens.
The 21-year-old has notched 12 tries in nine appearances this season for Lindsay Anfield's side, including a hat-trick in the 44-4 win over Warrington Wolves earlier this month.
Wood, who is proudly sponsored by Visiting North Yorkshire, retains her place as a starting prop for Stuart Barrow's England team, having been an ever present for York in 2024, scoring twice in nine matches.
The front-rower was a vital member of the Valkyrie side which clinched the Grand Final and League Leaders' Shield last year, earning 17 appearances and scoring three tries.
