York City Knights Ladies come leaps and bounds ahead of 2020 season!

This is my first season as Team Manager, and I think the introduction of myself as Team Manager just shows the attitude of this club and how important the Women’s game is within the club.

In past seasons, a lot of the organisational side of the Ladies team was done by the coaches and crossing over to staff from the Men’s part of the club.

The introduction of myself has seen me take on that role of organising and take the pressure off the coaches so they can focus solely on coaching and I believe that will have a positive impact on the pitch. My goal and role isn’t to just play a part within this Ladies team, it is to grow this Ladies team and it’s a task I’m thoroughly enjoying.

As a York Lad who used to put out Fordy’s kit with my Dad as a youngster, I take great pride in helping this Team grow and the expansion of the Women’s Super League is something that really excites me. I’ve been lucky that York have given me the trust and freedom to implement my ideas and work closely with them on building up this fantastic club!

When the season rolls around it will see us introduce paid entry on our home games as a minimum £2 donation that directly gets re-invested into the club to help pay for the general running of the club so we can maintain the professional standards throughout this upcoming season and build into next year also. Like the entry for the Men’s games, we will not be asking for anything for any under 16s.

I have also taken on the responsibility of improving our interaction, specifically online. So hopefully you see a fresh article, like this one, every week on something different highlighting the fantastic players this club has to offer and the progress we are making.

We get our season underway at home to Huddersfield Giants on 29th March at YSJ Sports Park on Haxby Road. We hope to see as many new faces as possible!
