Itâs part two of York Knights v Halifax Panthers this weekend, as they face each other in the Betfred Championship at the LNER Community Stadium on Sunday (3pm)!
The match is just seven days after the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup clash between the two which the Knights won 32-20. Tries from Levi Edwards, Sam Cook, Jack Potter, Jesse Dee, Taylor Pemberton and Kieran Buchanan helped York to victory, and set up a quarter final tie at home to Widnes next month.
However, thereâs just as much at stake this week with two vital league points up for grabs.
The Knights are still looking for their first Championship win this year, after defeats by Oldham and Toulouse, and are currently at the bottom of the table.
Halifax sit in second place, after wins over Barrow and Sheffield Eagles.
With both sides having players missing last week, there could be two different looking line-ups for this encounter.
Halifax captain Ben Crooks, James Woodburn-Hall, Brandon Douglas could all be back for the Panthers, after not being included in the 1895 Cup match.
York may have full-back, Will Dagger back for the game, after he was ruled out with injury last week. Coach, Mark Applegarth will also be monitoring the fitness of the likes of Joe Brown, Joe Law and Jacob Gannon and Myles Harrison, who have all been unavailable recently.
In the corresponding fixture last year, the Knights won 40-18, with tries from the on loan Davy Litten, Joe Brown, Jimmy Keinhorst, AJ Towse, Ukuma Taâai and two from Josh Daley, before losing 38-18 at The Shay later in the season.
This weekend is also International Women's Day, so join us as we celebrate the women around the club, including fans, staff, players and their families.
We recognise that while rugby league is inclusive, we can still work to make sure everyone involved feels safe and valued.
