Wood
Prop
One of the premier forwards in the Betfred Women’s Super League, Wood has been a vital member of the York’s pack ever since her move from Bradford Bulls in 2021.
Wood’s ability to make consistent metres in the middle, often during 80-minute stints, has formed part of the Valkyrie’s elite forward pack, with a record two consecutive League Leaders’ Shields (2022 and 2023) and a maiden Grand Final in 2023 delivered as a result.
The Huddersfield-born prop continued to impress for Lindsay Anfield’s side in 2023, scoring three tries in an ever-present 17 appearances.
Rugby League World magazine named Wood in their 2023 Betfred Women’s Super League Team of the Year.
The Valkyrie’s 2022 joint-Players’ Player of the Year has won five caps for England to date, featuring thrice during the World Cup in 2022.
